Repair Power Config

Introduction:
this article was written for a couple of users who has a slight problem with their “Power Config” panel. These issues may be linked to some corrupted registry settings…

1.] Download notepad++ from the original author or from a mirror and install the software.

——————————-

2.] Click Start >> Run >> Type: regedit

3.] On your left panel, navigate to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCFG”

4.] Right click on “PowerCFG”; choose “Export”, and save it as “old-powercfg.reg”.

Notes: you can save it in another name. But, the extension must be intact!

5.] Now, right click again and choose Delete.

6.] Copy one of these “registries – binary” and save it as a “.reg” file.

Restore Registry

Introduction: When I was working at home, I forgot to enable my “virtual protection systems” so that I could analyze the infected files.
Nevertheless, it was located at the taskbar…stupid me!
Anyway, if your Registry is disabled by a virus, you can use this guide to enable the registry – library in a normal fashion.

Method 1 – Using Group Policy Editor

1.] Click Start >> Run >> Type: “gpedit.msc” [without the quotes]
2.] When you’re inside ‘Group Policy’, just click on User Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> System
3.] Double-click: “Prevent access to registry editing tools”
4.] Set it as: Not Configured

Important: If it’s already set to: “Not configured”, set it to “Enabled” and click Apply.
Then repeat the steps and revert the setting back to “Not Configured.”
This removes the registry based policy if set already.

Method 2 – Using a Registry backup file.

1.] Download the following files and ‘merge’ it with your registry.

Link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/y5kzt0myomj/Registry Restore.rar

2.] Unpack the file and execute it.

That is all you need to know…
