Protect your computer with Comodo Secure DNS!
Introduction: For three years, I am still supporting Comodo – security – tools and their application. Surprisingly, they also provide everyone with a new service. The company called it: “Comodo Secure DNS”. However, this service is kind of similar to “OpenDNS” provider. So, in my point of view, one of their staff must have copied “OpenDNS” engine and converted their ideas to attract more costumers, just to use their products! But, who cares! Comodo is doing a great job to keep everyone secure and protected.
So, what is the big picture behind DNS server?
A DNS server (Domain Name System) is like a phone book that helps your PC to find the address of a particular website / domain, that you are trying to reach or visit. But, if we strip apart this ‘DNS’ term, there is a whole – new – meaning behind this term. For example, if you surf the web and type in my website address, the DNS server will retrieve the site by its ‘IP address’ and convert them into a domain name (website). In other words, it is easier to remember the domain name, than it is to remember the IP addresses. DNS will also allow you to connect to another networked computer or remote service by using its domain name instead of using numerical IP addresses.
