When I got my hands on this ‘Playbook,’ it looks very smart, professional and perfectly built for multitasking. But, when it comes to hardware analysis and performance, this beast is powered by a 1GHz Dual-Core (ARM Cortex A9 Processor), 1GB Memory, 802.11 WiFi (a/b/g/n), Bluetooth + EDR (useful for bridging), and undisclosed GPU which is capable of running OpenGL application. But, that’s not all, as this tablet operates on a new “QNX-based” system (BlackBerry Tablet OS) – providing full POSIX-compatible native SDK, JavaVM engine to support various apps, full native – API support (Javascript) and AIR-based supports for 3rd party developers / programmers.

For internet enthusiast and Workaholics, this tablet supports 7” – Widescreen Display (1024 x 600 pixels) and provides full web experience with “HTML5 and Flash 10.1” compatibility. But, for those who require this gadget for extensive presentation, then you can purchase a ‘mini-HDMI’ and synchronize it with a HDTV. However, this may impact on ‘battery-life’ and performance.
Apart from that, they also have two “HD cameras” (3 MP front facing, 5 MP rear facing) which provides a whopping 1080p – HD video playback / recording.

Based on the support for various application and requirements, the playbook packs quite a lot of apps for the public. By default, you will get Flash support (which is already mentioned), Word / Powerpoint / Excel processing application, Adobe Reader, Free Games (Need For Speed Undercover / Tetris), Browser integration which operates similar to FireFox / Chrome and many more! But, the best features for everyone to download / organize their work? It’s the “Blackberry Apps Market” where everyone can shop all day and look for the BEST application just for work, for fun or solve everyday problems.

Now, for those who would like to know the thickness and size, the initial dimension for the Playbook is around 130mm (Height) x 195mm (Width) x 10mm (Thickness). But, when it comes to portability and manageability, this beauty weighs less than a pound, which in-terms, is around 400g (0.9 lbs) – making it the first professional tablet for traveling, work and for those who communicate often (abroad).

Overall, this device is a ‘MUST BUY’ if you want to keep everything organize and presents any design / prototype for clients at professional standard. Even better, this product can also act like a portfolio. It can store movie – clips, images, large project and PDF files without wasting your money on prints / paper. But, for those who travel often or work within the office, then forget about your 10.1 – 17 inch laptop and think this 7 inch tablet. Nevertheless, if I were you, I would also purchase a mini-HDMI cable for presentation and universal keyboard (Bluetooth) for ‘fast typing’ on the fly. However, if you don’t have the money, just yet, then wait for the price to plummet, as newer models will arise and your favourite Playbook 7” inch will drop like GOLD rush.

For FULL specification, the information are as follow:

- 7” LCD – Widescreen (1024 x 600) + HDMI Support
- Full multi-touch and gesture support
- Blackberry Tablet OS (QNX-based Engine) + Symmetric multi-processing
- 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor (ARM® Cortex -A9 Technology)
- 1GB Memory + Integrated “SGX540 GPU” accelerator
- Memory: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB
- 5300mAh battery (Integrated)
- Dual HD cameras (3 MP Front / 5 MP Rear)
- Video playback & Recording – 1080p HD Video, H.264, MPEG, DivX, WMV
- Audio playback: MP3, AAC, WMA
- HDMI video output (Requires Mini-HDMI cable)
- GPS + Wi-Fi – 802.11 – a/b/g/n support
- Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- Application Support for WebKit/HTML-5, Adobe Flash Player 10.2, Adobe Mobile AIR, Adobe Reader, POSIX, OpenGL, Java
- Size & Dimension: 130mm (Height) x 195mm (Width) x 10mm (Thickness) + Weighs less than a pound: 400g (0.9 lbs).

Software Included: Word / Excel / PPT (Powerpoint), Adobe Reader, Apps World
Services / Email Provider: Gmail, AOL, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail

Notes: there are many apps / services which I can declare. But, it’s your choice to buy one and see them for yourself. It’s worth the purchase!

Everyday, there are many individuals who would like to race, whether it’s a car they are using or running. But, guess what? The ‘Geeks’ at Microsoft are looking to utilize these similar strategy, just to compete with the world of ‘VIRUS’ by creating friendly worms (which are also known as viruses) to combat, protect and repair security holes.

So, where did Microsoft collect their ideas from? The answer is pretty simple: they got these concept from various technologies, which are used to deliver “medication / fight cancer”. But, translating these theories into computer language, the team must construct good computer viruses that would take advantage of a given security – loophole and disperse them like ‘nanobots’ (similar to self replicating bugs) to find critical areas (which are venerable to attacks) and patching any flaws, security holes and repair damaged system-file from previous attacks.

In my own opinion, these little angels would make your system safe from any intrusion, attacks and viruses that would exploit the same loophole. However, this is only a theory, so in the mean time, please check your Anti-Virus scanner and keep everything in the Green-zone!

For those who is against “Adsense” and other advertised agency, then why don’t you try this script on your own site? It’s also simple and very easy to implement – if your server has “parsing – enabled” for HTML WebPages.

Notes: this script will only work on webpages which utilize PHP source. Nevertheless, it will also work on hybrid – website which deploys PHP parsing for HTML.

1.] Copy this script and save it as: “ads-block.php”. But, don’t forget to integrate this file on your server.

<?php
$fcontents = join ('', file ('../ads-block/ads-block.txt'));
$s_con = split("#",$fcontents);

$banner_no = rand(0,(count($s_con)-1));
echo $s_con[$banner_no];
?>

2.] Create a new ‘text’ file (*.txt) and give it a name. After that, you must integrate these sources and modify it to your hearth’s content. However, you must keep this ‘#’ symbol. This is basically used as a ‘break’ for each advert, instead of spacing.

<a href="Link01" target="_blank" >
<img src="/ad-sponsor/468x60_ads.jpg" width="468" height="60" alt="Adverts Here!" border="0"></a>
#
<a href="Link02" target="_blank" >
<img src="/ad-sponsor/468x60_ads.jpg" width="468" height="60" alt="Adverts Here!" border="0"></a>
#
<a href="Link03" target="_blank" >
<img src="/ad-sponsor/468x60_ads.jpg" width="468" height="60" alt="Adverts Here!" border="0"></a>
#
<a href="Link04" target="_blank" >
<img src="/ad-sponsor/468x60_ads.jpg" width="468" height="60" alt="Adverts Here!" border="0"></a>

3.] Grab this script and place them anywhere on your webpage. However, you will need to replace “php_include” directory and point it to this file: “ads-block.php”. But, don’t forget to check your server if you want to use these within HTML environment.

WordPress

<?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . '/ads-block.php'); ?>

HTML Webpage

<?php include("../directory/ads-block.php"); ?>

WordPress / HTML

<?php include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . "/directory/ads-block.php"; ?>

4.] You are done!

His name is Meng To, an independent scripter and programmer. It also has a ‘tight-knit’ community for graphic designers and artists’ worldwide with a focus on quality and social interactions.

In my own perspective, this site looks simple, friendly and rich with contents. There will also be other features for everyone to try. They also have ‘Facebook Connect’ for everyone to build and construct their portfolio that would shine and thrive for success. However, it’s not just about uploading your work. Each user can have their custom background, header and more.

Visit the website at http://shadowness.com and sign up for a free account!

For more action and fun, they have kick-started their launch with a few friendly contests, which can be found at http://shadowness.com/contests. So, don’t miss out the fun and show the world your true ambition and talents!

How to resolve CrossfireX problems

For individuals who took advantages of ‘CrossfireX’ technology, then you will need to be careful, especially your second GPU. But, to be truthful, the person who developed ‘ULPS’ technology (save power consumption), he / she should be sued! This feature causes instability, freezing issue and crashes to your system. It will also make your second GPU unusable. Therefore, if you want to keep ‘CrossfireX’ running normally, then you must disable ‘ULPS’ and examine both cards for any faults. This is crucial if you want to avoid BSOD and severe damage to your system.

Disable ‘ULPS’ – Registry Edit
—————————————–
1.] Click Start >> Run >> Type: Regedit
2.] Look for this directory…
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\…

3.] Look for these folders. They are situated as numbers: 0000 / 0001 / 0003.
The actual directory should also look like this…

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000\…
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0001\…

Notes: if you have more than three folders, then you will only need to change this string: “EnableUlps”.

Set 1 to enable ULPS
Set 0 to disable ULPS

4.] Exit the Registry and reboot your system. After that, you should test your GPU for any unusual behaviour. Here is my recommendation. However, you will need other equipment if you are going to touch / test your hardware & video cards.

- Check your ‘Bridge’ connectors and make sure they are connected firmly.
- Check your bridge if they are bent (by force), broken or defective.
- Make sure both cards are tightened and secured into your PCI-E slots.
- Analyze one of your cards (individually) and make sure that your PCI-E are cleaned.
- Take out one card (individually) and test them for any faults and defects.
- Make sure your PSU is working correctly and provide sufficient energy for both cards.
Failing to provide optimal power and usage, your system could stall and may not boot correctly.

Vol 11 – Keep your games & homework balance!

Have you heard any recent news from BBC website? They are blaming the game industry for ruining children’s education and their habits when playing games. So, what is your opinion and solution to this problem? Stop your kids / children from playing? I think not, because, playing game is not just about having fun. It’s basically expanding your creativity, designs and collecting ideas. However, let’s cut the glory and look at yourself: do you play regularly without sleeping, eating or take a break? If you don’t, you will seriously end up with some sort of disorder. Even worse, you will get brain damage, low blood pressure and muscle pain!

Control your addiction for crying out LOUD!

My Background History

When I first got a PS2 as a birthday present, I didn’t know that my life was turning up-side-down. Due to my obsession playing games, I got slated by teachers and headmaster for not handing in my homework, or studied hard enough for my exam. I was also taken out of class and sent home for bad behaviour, such as: sleeping in the class and ignoring my session.” So, please, please and please don’t make the same mistake, as I did! Getting good grades is far more rewarding than playing games. Trust me…

How to Solve Your Problems

If you want to keep your gaming habits and education safe, please give these methods a try. It will help you manage your time, homework, school session and allow you to play without problems or hassle.

Method 01 - Buy an alarm clock and set your time. But, don’t forget to create a table and write something that would balance out your free time, school session and your homework.

Method 02 – Write down some rules and sticky-note them on your door. So, when you walked through, you will be greeted with a list of condition before playing. However, if your condition / requirements are not absolute, then get back to work! You don’t want to jeopardize your homework or revisions, do ya?

Method 03 – Get a journal and write down all of your free time, school holiday and record your half – term holiday. You may also record anything else and keep it organize. After that, you must write several conditions and schedule your fun / free time. But, don’t forget to keep a record of your homework / deadlines and get them over your head before touching your games or console.

Method 04 – Got a fridge? Then get yourself some sticky notes and write a few rules. However, you may want to ask your parents, if you can have the fridge as a notice – board. This practice will also keep your homework and schedule at peak condition.

Special Rewards!

If you finish your project, homework or pass your exam, then get yourself ready for some fun and free entertainment! But, don’t just hold yourself and play games all day or night. For example, you can show your parents how good you are with your homework. But, don’t forget to study hard and obtain quality grades! So, when you reach half – term or received your certificate, GCSE grades and anything else, you may show your ‘uphill struggle’ in-return for a prize, such as: getting a new console, new games for your collection or gain extra pocket money.

You see? Working hard does pay off…
