Starting from today, I will have to stop writing new articles / tutorials for the public. This is because, I have to move back and revise some of my older articles. They require attention and I have to repair it. So, please understand my situation and thank you for those who reported these problems.

Secondly, due to problems with my Graded Unit (College), I will have to halt some of my design project. But, don’t get upset and leave, as it will end after “week five”. Also, once I got this assessment out of my face, then I will write more articles for everyone to read, enjoy and learn.

In present days, everyone is using social – networking – site just to promote their contents, updates and their daily niche. However, which is the most effective service to spread your contents and promote your website online? Linkdin? Twitter? Facebook? Digg? Blogs? Email?

According to my research, internet – sharing – development tends to shift their progress towards traffic, but other social platforms still use their “word – of – mouth” advertising to gain pure traffic. So, what is your option? Do you use other tactics, such as referring friends / visitors, or, use some sort of widgets to let others share sites through social media.

Records & Statistic

From research, social – networking – site saw a 12% increase in usage, and 19% bumps in click – through. But, don’t just hold your breath, Email still counts as 50% of referrals and 9% is Blog traffic.

What about Facebook and Twitter?

Amongst the list of thousands and millions, Facebook is by far the most preferred service, when it comes to referrals. However, when you are looking at Twitter, there aren’t many referrals. But, don’t get me wrong. The company does advertise and promote their service. Yet Twitter has become the most effective ‘application’ for click through. They are also famous for kicking Facebook out of their door with an average: 18.6% clicks, whereas Facebook, the craziest of all promotion, it only produced 2.93% clicks. How nice and remarkable, just see Twitter slap their opponent (Facebook) with BIG clicks!

So, which is the best to promote your website? You decide and think about it. In the end of the day, the website is yours and they are not mine to counsel.

Word of Warning!

Facebook is not that friendly when it comes to scams, fraud and privacy issues. Therefore, if I were you, I would look at the other options and register with Twitter. But, don’t forget to try other social – networking – site, such as: Linkdin, Digg, Stumbleupon and Delicious. These will also attract various visitors and make your website visible to others in different ways.
