How to disable Avira update notification!
Introduction: for many users who are busy playing games (online) or watching their favorite movies on their computer with an active internet connection, you may find Avira rather annoying. So, take a look at this article and mute this ‘pop-ups’ out of your misery… the adverts is a pain in the neck!

Operating System: Windows XP Pro + Vista
1.] Click on ‘Start >> Control Panel’
2.] Look for ‘Administrative Tools’ folder / directory and select ‘Local Security Policy’
3.] Look at your left panel and select ‘Software Restriction Policy’ and click: ‘Action >> Create new restriction policies.’
4.] Expand “Software Restriction Policies” and right – click on ‘Additional Rules >> New Path Rule…’
5.] Browse through your folder and locate ‘avnotify.exe’ and don’t forget to disallow it. The actual string should look like this or similar.
C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\avnotify.exe
6.] Apply the changes and click OK!
7.] You are done!
