Repair your faulty TCPIP.SYS driver

For those who would like to repair their faulty ‘tcpip.sys’ driver, then take a look at this tutorial and repair them with a genuine file from your original disk.

Notes: If you are reading this tutorial, this can be accomplish by utilizing ‘MS Recovery Console’, or, by using the ‘Run’ function from Windows. However, in order to repair this faulty driver: ‘tcpip.sys’, the user must have a copy of Windows XP CD (SP2 or higher) for the procedure.

Replacing ‘TCPIP.SYS’ from Windows.

1.] Click Start >> Run >> Type: cmd >> Press Enter.
2.] Insert your ‘Windows XP CD’ and type the following commands and directories.

expand D:\i386\tcpip.sy_ C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\tcpip.sys

3.] Type ‘Exit’ to close the Command Prompt.

4.] Reboot your computer and start normally.

Replacing ‘TCPIP.SYS’ from Microsoft Recovery Consol.

1.] Insert your ‘Windows XP CD’ and start Windows. After that, you will need to press ‘F10’ or press ‘R’ to start recovery console.
2.] When you’re inside, the recovery console will prompt you to type in your password.
By default, your Admin password should be blank – hit ‘Enter’ to continue.

3.] Backup your ‘tcpip.sys’ files with this command and press ‘Enter.’

Copy C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\tcpip.sys C:\backup\tcpip.old

4.] Type this command and double – check your directory, just before you press Enter.

copy D:\i386\tcpip.sy_ C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\tcpip.sys

5.] Type ‘Exit’ and start Windows normally.

6.] Take out your disk and keep it in a safe place.
