How To Resolve CrossFireX Issue

For those who utilize “CrossFireX” for extensive gaming, work and rendering, then please read this article if you have problems, such as: ‘GPU driver not responding, System hangs, Application hangs and random crashes.’ Also, from my experiences, please don’t panic if you encounter this problem, as “VPU Recover” will also try to restart your GPU when it finds “No Response” from your GPUs. However, if this issue keeps persisting and forcing your computer to restart at random occasion, then get yourself ready to solve this problem.

How To Solve This problem?

1.] Check your system for DirectX conflicts and faults. If there is a new version – upgrade it…

2.] Switch OFF your system and open your case. But, don’t forget to wear ‘anti-static’ wriststrap if you have £1500 – £3000 hardware. After that, you will need to check your ‘Bridge’ connection, Airflow blockage and re-arrange your cables for better ventilation. Also, please don’t forget to clean your case / hardware if it looks dirty.

Previous Article: How To Disable ULPS When Crossfiring?

Notes: please read my previous tutorials if you haven’t disable ‘ULPS’. This is crucial if you want to ‘CrossFire’ your GPU for better experience. However, please backup your registry just before touching it.

3.] Update your display driver (Catalyst Driver) to the latest version. The latest driver for your system / hardware can be found HERE.

4.] Lack of power from your PSU just to keep your GPU active.
- If you have a crappy PSU, take out your wallet and get yourself a better one! I would recommend Antec, OCZ, Corsair if you have any room due to size / length.

5.] Update your Bios (Motherboard) to the latest version. But, for those who STILL use outdated motherboard, please don’t be daft – START investing / upgrading on your system!

6.] If you are overclocking your cards (which everybody does to save money), please put it’s setting back to default! By doing this little fix, your system could breath easier and manage itself without suffocating. In other terms, if you overclock your GPU, the processor from that card will need to consume more power – making it work harder and killing itself due to stress!

Notes: some application / program will not support ‘CrossfireX’ that well. So please write down a list of application (which causes the above problems) and prepare to disable its function. This is the only way if you want to keep working without thrashing time.
